Monique Lhuillier‘s Spring/Summer 2011 runway show was a mix of the nice – flower-decked dresses, apple-red pants – teaming up with the slightly naughty: nude embellished corset bodices, drop-waist ballgowns and dripping paillettes.
“It’s a 1950s Audrey Hepburn look,” enthused make-up artist Val Garland. Her M·A·C-adorned Hepburns traipsed down the catwalk “very haute couture and red carpet, slightly debutante” with gilded lilacs on the eyelids, liner and a delicate soft, pink glossed lips.
Eyes:
1. Garland layered Digit and Vellum eyeshadows onto the eyelids.
2. She applied Crystal eyeshadow through the crease of the eyelids with a layer of Idol Eyes eyeshadow applied wet on top.
3. Garland placed Woodwinked eyeshadow on the inner corners of the eyelids.
4. She lined the eyes with Blacktrack Fluidline in a winged-out shape.
5. The look was finished with M·A·C 41 false lashes – cut in half and applied to the outer corners of the eyes.
Lips:
1. Garland patted Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass onto the lips.
Face:
1. Garland applied Face and Body foundation as a base.
2. She blended Bamboo cream colour base onto the cheeks.
3. Garland highlighted the cheekbones with Shell cream colour base.
