More than 2.5 million Australians tuned in last night for the grand finale of wildly popular reality TV show, My Kitchen Rules. Fans tuned in to the My Kitchen Rules final 2014 to see ‘villains’ and best friends Chloe James and Kelly Ramsay from WA, be defeated by South Australian mums Bree May and Jessica Liebich.
It was a high suspense and close competition, with the mums beating out Chloe and Kelly by just two points, gaining a winning score of 54/60. Bree and Jessuca prepared a menu of modern classics with a twist that proved the ultimate champion.
Fans have hit social media with their delight to see Chloe and Kelly be bested, after the pair were depicted as ‘villains’ from the very beginning of the My Kitchen Rules series. The girls from WA have been vocal with their opinions and criticism of ‘rivals’ Vikki and Helena from day one.
On the other hand, South Australia’s mums were considered to be a much nicer and more likeable team. Whilst they were slightly less exciting (and generated far less ratings) than team WA, they were considered friendly, and were considerate in their dealings with other contestants.
Whilst the mums made it clear that they wanted to win to make their daughters and husbands proud, Chloe and Kelly never hid the fact that they were after riches and fame from the popular cooking series.
‘Our families are going to be so proud,’ said Bree, as the final result was announced. ‘I can’t believe that we did it.’
‘We came here because we wanted to create a better life for our children and husbands.’
‘Our whole world has opened up for us now and we’re so happy to start a new stage of our lives.’
