My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Fieldel and his fiancée Clarissa Weerasena have reportedly tied the knot, in a secret ceremony. Women’s Day have revealed that Fieldel and his fiancé were married secretly in a private ceremony held in Malaysia in February.
A close friend of the pair spoke to the magazine, revealing that Fieldel and Weerasena were wed whilst they visited the bride’s family last month.
The couple publically announced their engagement last November, having been together for almost three years. At the time, Manu Fieldel spoke to New Idea about the relationship.
‘For the first time ever, I thought about spending the rest of my life with one person and I knew Clarissa was The One,’ he said. ‘I’m as happy as any man could be when the woman you love agrees to marry you.’
The couple had spoken to media about their trip to Malaysia before departing, but did not mention anything about a secret wedding. ‘I’m mainly going over there for the food, but I’m meeting the parents, too,’ said Feildel.
The couple have yet to confirm the rumours of their secret marriage, all though My Kitchen Rules fans Australia wide have been quick to post their excitement online.
‘Clarissa wanted a family-only wedding in the traditional sense,’ revealed the Women’s Day source. ‘They’re going to have another wedding in Australia soon.’
UPDATE: Manu Fieldel hit back at the rumours later in the day, posting a very clear message to his Facebook page that said, “Despite false reports Clarissa and I have wed in secret, this is as usual more lies.” Manu’s Channel Seven publicist also confirmed that the couple are not married.
