Our MBFWA Nail Wrap comprises of the best fingernails, tallons, claws and on-trend toenails we witnessed backstage and on the runway at fashion week. Bright, two toned and white-hot nails are one of the easiest trends to take from the catwalk to the streets!
As Zimmermann showcased their collection inspired by 50s bathing suits transporting us to somewhere in the Carribean.
With exaggerated eyebrows, pale blue shimmery eyes and peach cheeks, the ‘old school rags’ hairdos set off the stark white nails and toes by OPI. On the nails there was a combination of OPI’s Alpine Snow, as the first layer followed by OPI’s Don’t Touch My Tutu over the top. On the toes OPI’s Alpine Snow created a pop crisp white tropical feel – we love!
Nails were a major feature at the extraordinary Toni Maticevski Show. The ornate and intricate pieces were matched with reverse half moon nails complemented the ‘Dynasty’ style appearance. OPI’s Road House Blues was the palette for the half moon with OPI’s Tickle My France-y as the base. Chic and dangerous!
As Camilla took us on a journey through seven different countries, the rainbow of nails were one of the many highlights of the show. Like each of the countries that inspired the collection, the nails and toes were carefully designed to match the style of each country explored.
The Australian collection had the models wearing OPI’s On the Same Paige on hands with a few key nails in Barefoot in Barcelona. The toes complemented the look in Barefoot in Barcelona. On the African savannah all 4 nails were painted in OPI’s Black Onyx whilst the index finger was painted in Glitzerland. The toes were adorned in this pale silver gold shade, Glitzerland The Brazilian inspired range had the models in a sea of colour with each finger painted in a different colour; from thumb to pinkie – My Chihuahua Bites, Black Onyx, Need Sunglasses, Blue My Mind, FLY. Toes were painted in OPI’s Black Onyx.
The Asia inspired range featured OPI’s Do You Lilac It? on the majority of the nails with only one nail featuring a musk pink, OPI Kiss Me on My Tulips. On the toes Kiss Me on My Tulips Whilst in Peru the nails featured OPI’s Friday Night, highlighted with one nail in a bright yellow, Need Sunglasses. The toes were rocking Friday Night. In India the nail took a traditional tone featuring OPI’s traditional red, Big Apple Red with one nail is Glitzerland. Toes were in the vibrant Big Apple Red. Our final destination was in the Navaho where all fingers and toes were in OPI’s Give Me the Moon a soft silvery pastel blue grey.
The Mexican artist Friday Kahlo was the muse for Manning Cartell collection, with neon pink, white, emerald green, magenta, royal blue and grey. The models hands were heavily bejewelled in exotic rings, as they wore OPI’s new chartreuse Did It On Em on their hands and a crisp white lacquer shade, Alpine Snow, on their toes.
At Watson X Watson the nail brief was for something dynamic and decadent. OPI chose a soft lilac sheer nude as the base, Care to Danse then the nail was dipped in gold by hand painting a warm golden flame or a racing stripe from the nail edge to the cuticle, using OPI’s DS Glow.
