Nicki Minaj has a new look and you’re going to have to see it to believe it! The Sapphires crew have had a huge week debuting their film to our friends in the US and Ellen has been forced to postpone her trip down under.

Last week in Beauty News, we heard that Nicki Minaj had fired her glam squad and was getting ready to unleash a new look now that she’s done with American Idol. Now, it seems the transformation is already underway with the star having experienced a major make-under for the April issue of Elle.
Forget the bright pink lipstick, enormous lashes and crazy hair styles we’ve come to know the Starships singer for – in the shoot Minaj is so paired back and fresh that she’s almost unrecognisable… and we love it. In the story that accompanies the shoot, Minaj confesses that the make-under experience was a little daunting, saying, “To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol’ crazy lashes – you know, nothing – I felt naked. It was scary!”
Scary, perhaps, but we think the more subdued look suits the hip hop star and we’re excited to see how her style evolves from here on out.

In January this year, The Sapphires cast and crew walked away from the AACTA awards with a huge 11 statuettes, proving itself to be the little film that could. Now, the film is enjoying further success, having debuted to an American audience in New York last night.
The screening was hosted by Harvey Weinstein, whose Weinstein Company is distributing the feel-good film in the US with a season beginning March 29th. Stars Chris O’Dowd, Jessica Mauboy, Deborah Mailman, Shari Sebbens, and Miranda Tapsell joined director Wayne Blair on the red carpet and stuck around to perform for the guests after the screening.
Ellen DeGeneres has been forced to postpone her tour down under at the last minute because of illness. The talk show host, who has been planning her trip to Australia for a year now, was due to board a flight from LA tomorrow with her partner Portia DeGeneres but is too sick to take off.
Warner Bros released a statement saying, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show will delay its arrival into Australia by a few days while Ellen recovers from the flu. Ellen will meet her fans in Sydney later next week, and will then come to Melbourne. More announcements about the trip will be made in coming days.”
The 55-year-old has been tweeting from her sickbed all week, joking, “Trying to get over a bug before I go to Australia. Nobody wants to be down under the weather,” and, “Between my humidifier and Portia make me tea non-stop, there’s so much steam coming form our house people think we picked the new Pope.”
Here’s hoping Ellen recovers ASAP!
