What is a night cream?
Typically creamy and rich in texture, the night cream or serum intends to put the beauty back into your beauty sleep. Up there with the heavyweights of skincare, the night cream does for your complexion what your lightweight moisturiser does during the day.
Commonly charged with essential oils to inject moisture, night creams may have a higher oil content than your daily moisturiser but they are usually made in noncomedogenic formulas so they won’t clog pores, which is ideal for sleeping.
Why do I need it?
Trans epidermal water loss, or TEWL, is at large during the night and a night cream prevents dehydration, which is essential for skin around the eyes, or if you have dry skin in general. While you’re in the land of nod, the body’s cells are being replenished and recharged which is why it’s the perfect time deliver the raw materials this skin needs. Waking up fresh as a daisy is that easy!
