Make-up artist James Kaliardos said the look at Diane von Furstenberg for Spring 2011 was “based on Andy Warhol’s silkscreen of Diane’s lips – it’s an iconic image for DVF”.
The bold, matte lips stood out against a gorgeous, natural glow and simply, sculpted eyes. This is the look we could take from runway to real way easily.
The face base was created with MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation for matte-perfection with sculpting powders and a pearl cream colour base used to contour the cheeks and temples and highlight the cheekbones and the centre of the nose.
Nude eyes were created with the Pearl Cream Colour Base touched into the centres of the lids and on the tear ducts to open eyes while sculpting powders contoured the crease of the eyelids.
Statement lips were created with MAC’s Pro Process Magenta Chromagraphic Pencil and Magenta Madness Pigment which was brushed over the pencil to create a neon ink matte lip.
We love this look for spring, it is simple and natural but the bold lip ups the ante for nights out.
