This week we were glued to our TVs and computer screens to catch all the action from the 84th Annual Academy Awards. The Oscar’s typically see the worlds biggest stars opt for elegant and classic looks, more so than any other award show in the Hollywood awards season. We did however notice some key trends this year and we are going to show you how to get a piece of the action, no matter what your age!
At just 23 years old, Emma is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most prized possessions. She is funny, dramatic, and boy does she know how to wear pink. We wouldn’t usually recommend teaming red hair and a red dress with pink eyelids and lips, but if Emma can do it than we recommend giving it a go.

From blonde and barely there in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to luscious brown and thick, Rooney’s brows took a chunk of the limelight on the red carpet. Keeping them perfectly groomed and filled in made this look not too heavy.

Is it just us or does Meryl Streep age ever so gracefully? Rather than going with the something flashy or daring, Ms Strep showed offer her great complexion with nude tones on eyes, lips and cheeks as did many of her younger counterparts. We think Meryl did it best and those cheekbones couldn’t look better on anyone else.

Usually Angie’s lips are all everyone talks about but after this years focus on her leg, we thought we would take it back to basics. Lots of celebrities chose a bold lip but no one quite wears luscious red like Angelina.

Red is one of our most favourite lipstick colours, but applying it is a whole different story. We asked Maria, Creative Director for Make Up Store, to tell us how to perfect this tricky lip colour.
“When applying red lipstick, first apply concealer on the lips and along the lip contour then set it with a powder. Apply lip liner along the lip line and shade through the lips. This will allow the lipstick to last longer and strengthen the colour. Re-apply powder on the lips, then re-apply lip liner through the lips and finally apply lipstick using a lip brush for precision. Finish by applying lipstick sealer through the lips and when dry, re-apply lipstick”
