Each year 1400 Australian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and more than 1000 will die from the disease – that’s one woman every eight hours. This week is our chance to raise awareness of this shocking fact, and funds to assist in research, with Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day this Thursday May 8th.
If diagnosed early, the majority of women can survive, however without an early detection test for ovarian cancer, the majority of women are diagnosed with advanced stages of the disease. Now is the time for us to rally together, and support this important cause.
Some ways to show support this Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day:
Make Time in May
Ovarian Cancer Australia haave combined with Phoenix Traders to produce a set of eleven beautiful and personal cards. The organisation are encouraging Australians to use these cards to send a note to some one who means a lot to them, using snail mail to show some love. $5 from every $30 sale of the cards will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Australia to help support its advocacy, research and support systems.
