PRF – The Next Generation of Celebrity Favourite ‘Vampire Facial’ launches in Australia

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

There’s been a lot of beauty buzz about PRP (platelet-rich plasma) rejuvenation, known around the world as the “vampire facial”. The aesthetic treatment was made popular by celebrities who’ve shared their PRP Treatment photos on social media and raved about the results in interviews.

Whilst the nickname sounds dramatic, the treatment itself is minimally invasive, has little downtime and is a great alternative to dermal fillers. How? The natural aesthetic treatment renews your skin tissue with your own blood cells to combat and delay skin ageing for rejuvenation that lasts. The upshot? Smooth, healthy skin that glows.

Royce Newton, Co-Director of Hair Skin Science shared “We are proudly the first cosmetic clinic in Australia to provide PRF Treatment services for hair loss & skin rejuvenation.”

“The treatment can significantly decrease fine lines and wrinkles, reduce the appearance of scarring, and improve skin texture and tone. PRP can be an effective way to treat an array of skin concerns, including ageing, uneven skin tone, pigmentation and acne scarring.”

Collagen is our best defence

We know that collagen supplements are great for skin health and glow, so it makes sense that PRP on the face can stimulate our own production of collagen and elastin to firm and tighten thinning skin, effectively smoothing wrinkles and fine lines. Following a personalised consultation, a course of 3-4 treatments helps boost sluggish collagen production, improving overall skin texture and tone.

Concerns That Improve With PRP Treatment

According to Dr Ting, these are the most requested treatment areas that can benefit from PRP:

  • Under Eyes: To treat dark circles
  • Neck: Tightening and skin thickness
  • Hands: Back of hands tightening and rejuvenation
  • Mouth: Soften lines around the mouth
  • Overall Skin: Enhance skin glow, smooth the complexion, firm crepey skin

The Benefits of PRP treatment can include:

  • Improved skin tone
  • Rectifying sun damage
  • General ageing and preventative ageing
  • Acne scarring
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sagging skin
  • Thinning skin

“PRP is a natural and cost effective alternative to fillers and other aesthetic treatments. The results can be better than you get with dermal filler or injectables. PRP can also be an effective treatment for hair loss. PRP can be particularly good for people who have acne scarring or hyper-pigmentation.” advises Dr Ting.

So How Does a Great Treatment Get Better?

Introducing PRF (Palelet-Rich Fibrin) a next generation version of PRP. Already a Hollywood and A List favourite in the US, the TGA approved treatment is now available in Australia exclusively at Hair Skin Science clinics.

We spoke to Dr Cara Ting from Hair Skin Science, a national company of clinics based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast treating skin and hair loss for women and men. Dr. Ting shared her insight on why this is the go to treatment for celebrities and beauty insiders.

The Science Behind The Treatment

With traditional PRP, blood is collected and mixed with an anticoagulant called acid citrate dextrose (ACD). The key difference with PRF is, no anticoagulant is used during the spinning of the blood. PRF can offer even better and longer lasting results than PRP by releasing more growth factors over time which can continue to work on stimulating collagen and elastin, long after the procedure is completed.

PRP and PRF Skin Treatments are available from $350 at Hair and Skin Science Clinics. To find your local clinic and view services visit https://www.hairandskinscience.com.au
