After eight years of dating, Price William has finally taken the plunge and proposed to Kate Middleton!
Despite the proposal occurring last month during a holiday to Kenya, the pair only just announced their engagement publicly at St James’ Place.
Kate, 28, met the Prince at St Andrews University in 2001. The middle-class beauty caught Will’s attention at a University Charity fashion show where she stole the show, and Will’s heart, in skimpy lingerie. Her humble background has been the cause of much controversy over the years with many on-lookers suggested the Prince would never propose to a commoner, even nicknaming the brunette “Waity Katie”. We are overjoyed to announce that all those sceptical people have been proved incorrect and the Princess-to-be’s patience has finally paid off.
The incredible oval blue sapphire surrounded by a cluster of no less than fourteen diamonds that Lady Diana chose in 1981 now sits on Kate’s elegant hand. William told The Daily Mail, “It’s very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it was right to put the two together. It was my way of making sure my mother didn’t miss out on today and the excitement and the fact that we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Fashion insiders are already guessing which British designer Kate will choose for what will surely be one of the biggest weddings of the century. The Rescu. crew are already eagerly anticipating the Royal Wedding scheduled for next year.
