Last week we told you all about Leonardo DiCaprio’s LA birthday bash that included a bevy of supermodels and more than a few bottles of champagne. Now the star is back in Sydney and decided to hold another birthday party on Friday night at his favourite hang, Beach Haus in Kings Cross.
Kylie Minogue has landed in Sydney ahead of the 25th Annual Aria Awards where she will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. We check out what else we can expect at Australia’s night of music.
Sydney Falls for Princess Mary (Again)
The gorgeous Crown Princess Mary and Prince Frederik are in Australia to strengthen trade and business ties between our nation and
Denmark with a focus on green energy and sustainability. But their trip hasn’t been all business and the couple have been enjoying the sites of Sydney with their ten-month old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The family arrived in Sydney on Saturday and spent their first day visiting Mary’s home town Bondi with a stroll around the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. Afterwards, they took a boat trip on the Harbour and enjoyed a barbeque complete with prawns, lamb and mint sausages, Sydney rock oysters, barramuni and, of course, pavlova with King Island cream for desert. Their day couldn’t have been any more perfectly Sydney.
From here the family will be embarking on a six-day tour visiting Canberra, Melbourne, western Victoria and Broken Hill. Mary came for a private visit late last year but it’s the family’s first visit to Australia since August 2008. The pair met at Slip Inn in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics.
Leo’s Australian Birthday Bash
Part two of Leonardo DiCaprio’s 37th birthday celebrations took place at his favourite Sydney hot spot Beach Haus in Kings Cross. The popular club saw a line stretching down the street and those that were let in were predominantly female including a bunch of Australia’s Next Top Model contestants like Tahnee Atkinson, Lola Van Vorst, Rebecca Jobson and Alyce Crawford.
While the girls danced, Leo puffed on cigars and cigarettes with Inception co-star Lukas Haas and Ethan Suplee at the party that didn’t end until after 4.30am.
Sydney Confidential reported spotting some of the women being, “shoulder tappen and invited back to hotel rooms at The Star casino” and some being given phone numbers to call on arrival!
Who knows what went on from there but DiCaprio and his pals were seen enjoying a meal at Barrio Chino later on Saturday night before heading across the road for some more drinks.
ARIA Countdown
The 25th annual ARIA awards will be taking place on Sunday and as the date creeps closer more and more details are being revealed. Over the weekend it was announced that Missy Higgins will be returning from America to perform with Gurrumul Yunupingu and to present the single of the year and album of the year awards.
Kylie Minogue arrived at Sydney International Airport yesterday looking relaxed and happy. The pop star will be inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame along with kid’s performers The Wiggles.
The Living End, Delta Goodrem, Ricki-Lee Coulter and Molly Meldrum have all confirmed their appearance on the red carpet.
