Over the weekend, racing season kicked off with the Royal Randwick Racing Carnival. We check out who was there and, of course, what they wore. The Royal Wedding countdown is on so we’ll be bringing you updates in each of our Celebrity Spotlights until the big day.
Derby Day Glamour and Goss
Sydney’s most glamorous day of racing was held on Saturday with beyond perfect weather and flawless styles. The annual event held at Royal Randwick has a tradition of a very strict black and white dress code that the stylish set of Sydney keep interesting year after year.
The ever-stylish Kate Waterhouse wore a fantastic black number with a subtle but sexy plunging neckline and a floppy hat.
Samantha Harris chose a Dion Lee number with an incredible black Nerida Winter hat.
Megan Gale followed suit with a Nerida Winter hat and chose a short but sweet Willow dress.
Jodi Gordon was one of the few stars to go with a white look, wearing a Lisa Ho dress and customised Akubra. Gordon was also on the team of judges for the Fashions on the Field competition along with Danielle Horvat, Nerida Winter, Joe Farage, Gail Elliot and Joe Coffey. The judging panel chose North Bondi’s Jane Wilkinson as best dressed. She was wearing a Saba skirt with Alannah Hill top, hat, gloves and belt.
While the stars sipped champagne and looked on from the Emirates tent, Victorian mare Black Caviar took out the prize with Luke Nolen as jockey.
