Entitled ‘La Belle Au Bois Dormant,’ Rebecca Vallance’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection is one of beautiful contrasts.
The French translates to ‘The beauty sleeping in the woods,’ fitting for a collection that elegantly explores the dichotomies of good versus evil, light versus dark in a playful and decorative manner. This season sees contrasting colour palettes of rich jeweled tones against strong blocks of black threaded with injections of silver. The lightness of crepe de chine silk and chiffon are juxtaposed by the heaviness of fur, leather and tweed. The key elements are print, florals and texture.
