Hands up if you watch the red carpet season like a hawk only to wonder how you can inject some of that mega watt glamour into your real life without looking like a footballer’s wife? The trick to rocking Red carpet fashion is to take the ‘trends’ and incorporate them subtly and a little at a time to your own wardrobe. What you see on E! is usually best left to the pros but that’s not to say you can’t take away your own slice of glamour.

RESCU: What was the main trend you observed from the Oscars this year?
Marlene Mangioni: The Oscars were a dedication to old Hollywood Glamour this year with striking long gowns and glittering jewellery.
RESCU: Which celebrity wore it best?
Marlene Mangioni: Gwyneth Paltrow was my stand out of the night, white was a massive trend.
RESCU: Aside from white, where there any other key trends and stand outs?
Marlene Mangioni: Metallic was also a key trend of the night with our very own Rose Byrne in a sparkling Chanel gown. Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Lopez, and Ellie Kemper all sparkled in the Metallic trend as well. A tip with this trend is to go minimal on jewels, hair and makeup and let the dress speak for itself!
RESCU: What about colour? Any hot shades that you will be stocking up on?
Marlene Mangioni: The red carpet also offered striking red toned dresses from Michelle Williams’ tiered Louis Vuitton to Emma Stone’s fuchsia bow-necked gown by Giambattista Vialli.
RESCU: What’s so special about awards season and the red carpet fashions?
Marlene Mangioni: Red carpet is always a huge influence on fashion, we can always see an instant reaction in the fashion industry after awards season. The public tend to aspire to celebrity more than models so their looks are much easier to translate into everyday dressing.
