There are some celebs who we almost expect to land in jail every so often (ahem, Lindsay Lohan) but Reese Witherspoon certainly isn’t one of them.
The all-American sweetheart and her husband Jim Toth surprised fans over the weekend when they were arrested in Atlanta. The story goes that Toth was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. As he was being given a field sobriety test, Witherspoon refused to stay in the car and accosted the state trooper saying things like, “Do you know my name? You’re about to find out who I am” and, “You’re about to be on national news.” She wasn’t wrong with the last one!
This ended in the 37-year-old actress being arrested on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct.
The couple were out of jail and on to the red carpet by Sunday night as she premiered her new movie Mud. Word is she posed for the cameras but refused to talk to reporters. Since then, both the star and her husband have some out and apologised for their actions, admitting they had had, “one drink too many.”
Originally, the star and 42-year-old Toth had their hearings scheduled for Monday morning but both have been reset for late May. We’re guessing the next chapter in this story won’t be revealed until then – stay tuned!
Rihanna hasn’t exactly made a name for herself as a role model but over the weekend she made sure no parent would be mistaking her as such any time soon.
The star celebrated ‘420’ – otherwise known as World Weed Day – with aplomb, posting picture after picture, and tweet after tweet declaring her love for marijuana including a pic of a marijuana leaf shaped cake captioned, “What did I do to deserve the epicness that is my fans??!!” leading us to believe the treat was a gift from a fan.
RiRi rarely holds back but this display was so over-the-top one can’t help but think the star is actively trying to ditch any ideas around her being a role model.
After the weedy weekend, the star, who is set to come to Australia this year, got to celebrate something a little more worthy after it was announced she is officially the first singer in the 20 years of Billboard’s radio airplay charts to garner ten number one pop songs. Her latest single Stay rounded out the ten.
Jennifer Hawkins spent the weekend celebrating her bachelorette party with ten of her nearest and dearest including mum Gail and sister Kristy.
The model and her entourage enjoyed a day of pampering and relaxing then headed to Sokyo for dinner and finally on to Marquee nightclub at The Star in Sydney to down some cocktails and celebrate the end of Jen’s single life.
Like any girl, Jen instagrammed her way through the night, showing off vodka, French champagne, and a custom cake designed to look like a shoe box with her initals – JLH – on top.
Meanwhile, husband-to-be Jake Wall spent the weekend on the Gold Coast soaking up the sun and partying with his mates.
It is thought the pair will wed in Bali but they have been pretty close-lipped about the details – rumour ahs it there’s a major exclusivity deal around the private affair.
