There are two Oscars worth having. The first is one of those little gold statues and the second is anything from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2010 collection.
Whilst attaining one of those little gold statues usually requires a major glam down (think Charlize in ‘Monster’, Nicole in ‘The Hours’ and Grace in ‘The Country Girl’), Oscar de la Renta is all about glamour, dressing up and luxury.
The Fall 2010 collection was no exception, it was Park Avenue Princess (think ladylike gloves, tailored day coats finished with mink hems and cuffs, baby soft cashmere co-ordinates, graphic print beading on cocktail dresses, a-line day dresses and luxurious silk evening gowns), meets Russian Royalty.
Beyond the Romanov worthy fur hats and matching clutch bags, there were other touches to bring out your inner Oligarchess, including oversized gold earrings, and regal jewel coloured fabrics like magenta, teal and emerald, which were like a treasure chest amongst the classic black and cream.
