We’ve got some celebrity news of our own today! Last night Rescu. hosted a fabulous dinner at glass brasserie at The Hilton Hotel in Sydney to celebrate two years of RESCU. All our experts and some special friends of Rescu. gathered together and enjoyed a wonderful night.
The People
It was a thrill to see all our experts gathered in one room. Alex Perry arrived in style and made his way around the room, greeting each and every guest. Before dinner was served, Alex, who was RESCU’s very first expert, gave a heart-warming speech. Our editor Bahar Etminan followed, telling all the experts, “Each of you have rescued me in one way or another.”
Napoleon Perdis had flown in from LA for his IMATS keynote speech over the weekend and mentioned that he is hoping to be able to spend a bit more time in Sydney. We hope so too, Napoleon, there’s no doubt Sydney loves you!
Joh Bailey was looking as dapper as ever, enjoying conversation and catching up with all the guests.
Australia’s Next Top Model mentor and Alex Perry’s publicist Josh Flinn sat beside the fabulous raven-haired Glynis Traill-Nash who wore a black and white Josh Goot dress. The two talked fashion and the best brands of tequila with the table.
One of our newest experts, astrologer Yasmin Boland, arrived looking stunning in black and admitted she was a little star struck meeting the owner of glass and celebrity chef Luke Mangan who sat at the head of the table and chatted about his journey into cooking and more.
Psychic Bella Gill was looking as lovely as ever and just about everyone at the table left the room ready to have a reading with her.
Zoe Bingley-Pullin was jaw-droppingly gorgeous in black, proving she walks her talk when it comes to nutrition and health secrets.
Another very new expert, the ultimate cool hunter Tony Bannister, sat at the table and here we reveal for the first time that he will be joining Rescu. as our official trends expert. We were thrilled to see all of these experts in one room alongside a bunch of Rescu. friends.
Conversation and wine flowed and we looked around the room bursting with pride and thanks for each and every person there.
The Food & Wine
To kick things off, glasses of Veuve Clicquot Rose bubbly in RESCU’s signature pink were passed around as people arrived. As we took our seats for dinner, wines by De Bortoli Reserve range were poured and flowed throughout the night.
Celebrity chef Luke Mangan, who famously cooked for the Princess Mary of Denmark’s pre-wedding dinner and owns several renowned restaurants around the world including The Palace in South Melbourne, Salt grill in Singapore, Salt in Tokyo and, of course, glass in Sydney’s Hilton Hotel, was the man behind the feast.
The majority of the table opted for the incredible sashimi as an entree. When the main meal came out, a choice of lamb or fish, everyone was in awe. The food at glass is indescribably good and each and every one of our guests lef the table stuffed and beyond satisfied. By the time dessert rolled around, we weren’t sure we could fit any more in but when the chef’s floating island with fresh berries and frangelico anglaise and cheese platters came out, none of us could resist.
We can’t recommend glass at The Hilton enough; it’s a truly fabulous dining experience.
And we are super excited to announce that Luke Mangan is another one of our new experts and will be contributing regular recipes to the site soon!
The Table
Wild Fig and Cassis and Grapefruit Jo Malone candles were expertly matched to compliment the menu, topping the white table alongside beautiful pink and white blossoms.
Our amazing dinner guests looked even lovelier with the QVB as a backdrop beyond the glass walls of Glass and the soft, candle lit room was buzzing with conversation.
A huge thank you to each and every one of our guests and all our readers. Without you, Rescu. wouldn’t be and we have big plans for the future of Rescu. so stay tuned!
