Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2012 was a 5-day fashion frenzy for the Rescu. team. In between filming backstage interviews with designers, makeup artists and hair stylists, snapping away for our photo galleries, tweeting, facebook-ing, instagram-ing and pinning, we somehow managed soak it all up and savour some special memories.

“My Fashion Week Moment was sitting front row at the Lisa Ho show. On a perfect autumn Sydney morning, with the stunning set up at the NSW Art Gallery and Lisa Ho’s slick and elegant show, it just made me want to get out my credit card and shop. Oh and I have to mention the now infamous ‘moment’ when I ran into a man wearing the same Lisa Ho flower print blazer as me. The photographers went nuts to capture our expressions. Pure Fashion Week gold.”

“My Fashion Week Moment was Suboo’s ‘A Place in the Sun’ ready-to-wear collection shown at The Summit with 360-degree views of Sydney on a brilliant morning. Having earlier spied a piece on the statuesque Nikki Phillips (as we crammed into a lift flying almost 50 stories high) I was enamoured by the full collection as models floated past in summery gelato mints and sorbet hues, slick hair and a pop of neon on the eyelids; it was high summer with Slim Aarons. And who could forget the gorgeous debutante Dylan Cooper! Backstage, cool as a cucumber while the models ran around in completely wearable, floral and colour-blocked dresses, sporting their bad-girl-James-Dean hair with an iridescent lip. Love!”

“My Fashion Week Moment was definitely getting to see Akira Isogawa’s show and take photos backstage. The collection was an art piece, the models like beautiful sculptures. The patterns, textures and colour, absolutely fantastic, it was a treat to put together a gallery for everyone to enjoy. Suboo’s new collection was another highlight and would definitely make a great addition to my wardrobe. The bold prints and embellishments were outstanding and I can’t wait to get my hands on a few of their statement pieces!”

“My Fashion Week Moment was witnessing Taylor Tomasi-Hill backstage in action at Oroton styling the show (in Prada flame heels, no less) and filming Tali’s interview with the label’s creative director Ana Maria Escobar. Ana was a delight and so calm among the chaos, despite being 5 months pregnant! Front-row at the show, I was lusting after the mesh-collared shirts and injections of cobalt blue and rust orange in the collection. I was also in fashion heaven at Zimmerman – the dreamy pastel shades and clever cut-outs on the runway against the industrial backdrop of Koskela in Rosebery had me yearning for springtime shopping already. The most adorable moment was when Nicky Zimmerman took her bow and her daughter ran from the front-row into her arms. Not one to shy away from the camera, the budding fashionista made an impromptu appearance in our post-show interview with Nicky too!”
