Like it or not- Valentine’s Day is fast approaching boys! For those of you who don’t already know (yet probably should) V-day is on Sunday February 14th. But never fear Rescu. is here! From the heartfelt to the elaborate, to light-hearted and great value- we’ve got you covered. And we’ve even thrown in some date suggestions and personal anecdotes of our own too for good measure…
1. For the Princess
(Gift ideas for the girl who wants you to shout your love from the rooftops and spoil her little socks off.)
Your princess will no doubt wish to be wined and dined. Dress up for the occasion and ask her to do the same. When you pick her up, be sure to do the gentlemanly thing and knock on her door, preferably with an armful of roses.
Whisk her away to a great restaurant (Yourestuarants.com have compiled a handy little V-Day restaurant guide to help you out).
Finish the night by catching a flick at The Bondi Open Air Cinema- where they will be screening Romeo & Juliet this Valentines Day. Bondi Openair Cinema Valentine’s Night-General Admission $18.00 + bf www.moshtix.com.au
If all else fails, you simply can’t go wrong with Tiffany and Co…

2. From the heart.
The best Valentine’s Day present I’ve ever received was from my lovely boyfriend, who once filled up kiddy pool with water, glitter, and fish that he had cut out and covered with contact paper. He attached little magnets to the fish with paperclips, and gave me a fishing rod with a magnet on the end. The cutest part about it was each fish had something he loved about me written on it. Sometimes the very best gifts are the ones that come from the heart, and cost little to nothing at all.
Girls are suckers for sentimentality. Send her on a treasure hunt where she finds chocolates and handwritten sentiments along the way. If you can get your hands on a camera, film yourself telling her all the things you love about her, then on V-Day, rent a DVD to watch together, and switch the DVD inside for the one you made, and ask her to put it on. Get creative. Trust us, she’ll be head over heels.

3. For your wife
Just because you’re married and you celebrate your wedding anniversary each year, doesn’t mean you can skip the sentiments on V-Day- no matter what she says (trust us on this one).
Keep the spark alive and treat your wife (Okay- and yourself) to some beautiful new lingerie. Or why don’t you spoil her by taking her away for the weekend?

4. For your new girlfriend
So you’ve just started dating- and you don’t want to go all out and scare her off, but you also want to show you care?
So, what to do on the day? How about a cosy home-cooked meal finished with and a really good DVD? Or a low-key picnic somewhere quiet and romantic with a good bottle of wine and a yummy cheese platter?
As for the gift: here is a very cute gift idea that we’ve hi-jacked from a friend. Buy her a beautiful photo album, and fill it with any photographs you have together. It doesn’t matter if you don’t yet have many, because the best part of this gift is this: put a letter in the front of the album saying: “I can’t wait to fill this album with even more wonderful memories shared with you” Simple and sweet while at the same time proving your commitment.
