River Island Ships to Australia
Ever since the announcement that British chain River Island would be shipping to Australia, we have been counting the days until the drop of the AW13 collection. River Island are just about the best in British high street fashion; bringing the affordable luxe of Zara together with the fast-fashion of H&M and the festival fashion of Topshop. Therefore, we were not at all surprised to hear that they are the top selling label on ASOS. We were absolutely thrilled to hear that River Island are now shipping to Australia from their new site au.riverisland.com.
To launch their AW13 collection, River Island came to The Sailor’s Club in Rose Bay for two days earlier this week, with a preview of the season’s key trends, including the hotly anticipated second drop of the Rihanna x River Island collection. Rihanna’s line is a punky reflection of the singer’s style; full of slouchy jumpsuits, crop tops ant tie-dye.
Another line that caught our eye was Chelsea Girl, full of reinterpretations of British heritage styles and prints like gingham, checks and flannel, as well as ‘70s inspired coloured feathers and fur. Also delightful is the PACHA Ibizaline, inspired by the infamous Greek Isle-born chain of clubs, featuring rainbow lace (yes rainbow lace), Grecian embellished kaftans and delicate crochet.
Plus, we can also reveal that we heard whispers of a stand-alone River Island store coming this way!

Markets at The Winery
Whilst we can’t go past lazy lazy Sunday afternoon cocktails at The Winery, we have to admit that a day of shopping at the Winery sounds pretty excellent! Get you’re diary out and mark this one in your diary pronto!
Not only will the markets be situated in the delightful surrounds of The Winery, but the special touch is that all the stalls will be manned (actually, mostly womaned) by Sydney’s most stylish bloggers, including Badlands, RusshMagazine, Style by Yellow Button, Zanita and Harper and Harley. Also selling their pre-loved Australian and international designer clothing will be a host of fashion publicists and stylists.
To make things all the more blissful, mulled wine and share plates will be provided, as well as music by Starjumps,Liz Bird and Cassette. We’re loving this ‘markets with a twist’ theme; especially the opportunity to take a peek into the (former) wardrobes of our online best friends and style inspiration.
