Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was crowned Style Icon at the Elle Style Awards and Dakota Fanning, Anna Wintour and Rachel Zoe attended the Marc Jacobs Autumn/Winter 2012-13 New York Fashion Week show.
The ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ actress looked fabulous at the show wearing an Antonio Berardi dress, Sergio Rossi shoes, Irene Neuwirth earrings, and an Edie Parker clutch.
The 24-year-old beauty – currently dating Jason Statham – was presented with her award by Cuba Gooding Jr. at the event, held at the Savoy Hotel in London.
Other guests included Florence + the Machine singer Florence Welch, who took home the Best Music Act award, Poppy Delevigne, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and designers Julien Macdonald, Christopher Bailey and Christopher Kane.
Actress Christina Ricci presented designer Jonathan Saunders with his award for British Designer of the Year, while former ‘The X Files’ star Gillian Anderson gave Jordan Askill Jewelry Designer of the Year.
The evening’s host Alexa Chung and model David Gandy both opted for smart grey suits for the event, while ‘Mad Men’ star Christina Hendricks attended the bash in a bold purple dress with black and red detailing.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper, “I just wear things that I fall in love with and I think people have too many rules about what people should wear on the red carpet.”
Model Tali Lennox caused a stir when she turned on the red carpet and the sheer fabric of her Julien Macdonald dress showed off a lot more of her nude underwear than intended.
Earlier she had tweeted her excitement about wearing the dress, writing, “The dress has arrived for Elle Style Awards! It is a DREAM. Julian MacDonald is a bloody master mind. See you tonight @ELLEUK(sic)”
Other winners included Jessica Chastain, who was named as the Next Future Icon and Isabeli Fontana who was named Best Model.
Marc Jacobs showcased his Autumn/Winter 2012-13 collection at the Lexington Avenue Armory and as usual he attracted a star-studded audience, which also included Zoe Kravitz, Jared Leto, Rose Byrne and Kate Moss’ husband Jamie Hince.
And once again, the designer put on a spectacular show, which was themed around a fairytale.
Models wore oversized fur hats and embellished big-buckle shoes as well beautiful pieces of outerwear and chic cocktail clothes.
The palette had rich tones of purple and bottle green, with silver sparkle thrown in.
Betsey Johnson was also another designer to show at NYFW and impressed with her 60s-inspired collection.
The show was set to tunes played from the Beatles, Dusty Springfield and The Supremes but once again it was Betsey who was the star of the show.
The 69-year-old sartorialist took to the catwalk in a silver sparkly long-sleeve shirt and did her signature cartwheel and added the splits.
Her models then marched down the runway marching-band style, dressed as cheerleaders wearing silver miniskirts and carrying pom-poms.
