Alex Perry’s luxurious designs called for nothing less than maximum impact and glamour.
Redken hair director Maria Ardino created the look for the Alex Perry show, commenting that she was after a look that was “fit for an Arabian Princess”. The resulting ‘do was typical of the Alex Perry glamour we all love; high, glamorous and incredibly chic.
The look combined extreme height at the front, slicked back sides and silky, glossy lengths.
How to recreate the look:
1. Apply Redken Touch Control 05 to roots, lengths and ends to encourage a soft texture and for workability.
Blow dry the hair using a large radial brush, directing the front and side lengths back, off the face.
2. Isolate a U-section from one temple, passed the crown, to the other temple.
Next use a very small amount of Redken Hardwear 16 to slick back the side lengths for a tight, smooth finish. Secure with pins at the back.
3. Curl the top U-section using large curling tongs to build height into the hair. Pin to set and allow to cool, then remove pins and carefully break up curls.
Using a fine tooth comb, backcomb the entire section from underneath, keeping the top smooth.
Back comb all the way to the crown, molding the hair up and back as you go.
4. Spray Redken Forceful 23 for a seamless finish, to keep sides tight and to lock the style in place.
