By Kate Squires, National Creative Team Leader for Napoleon Perdis
The Marie Claire Gala Opening was all about simple beauty. The models looked raw and natural with warmth in their skin. It was very much about achieving the effortlessly sexy ‘just jumped out of bed’ look for the runway.
Kate Squires, Napoleon Perdis’ National Creative Team Leader, gave us the low-down on how to achieve this gorgeous, modern look.
How to recreate this look:
The brows are the defining feature here. The idea was to keep the focus on brows which shape the face by giving the brows a naturally looking bushy finish with a 3D feel. China Doll Eye Liner in the Earth colour way was used to build up the brows.
To achieve the soft, porcelain skin seen on the runway the Napoleon Perdis creative team used the NP Set Memory Foundation which is perfect for getting dewy, glowing skin. Next add a splash of apricot colouring to the cheek to warm the look up, by applying the NP Set Pasarella Powder Foundation in No. 4.
A cheek stain, Barely Blushing in the colour way Barely Buff was actually used on the lips to give them an understated hit of colour, but keeping with the naturally chic theme.
Keeping the look very soft and feminine, the eye was kept nude except for a splash of mascara using the new Napoleon Perdis Mesmerise Mascara which is perfect for getting long, separated and perfectly tinted lashes that open up the eye.
Tip for achieving bushy brows –
- Comb the natural hairs in a straight upwards direction.
- With every little hair you draw in using the China Doll Eye Liner, you brush up the natural hair with it, then draw in another stroke, brush the hair up,and continue this process to get a thick, untamed looking brow.
- Remember to extend the brow line – don’t stop where the natural brow stops or the brow will look too thick and made up. Rather, keep drawing in and brushing out the hairs tapering right out to a soft point at the end of the brow.
