Rescu. were treated to an elegant parade of glamour and sophistication at RSFF’s Review Show 3 last night. With ready-to-wear and eveningwear from Ms Couture, Aurelio Costarella, Nicola Finetti and more on the bill, we were expecting high volumes of sexy femininity and this show certainly delivered.
Nicola Finetti was first down the runway showing champagne silk with splashes of muted colour. We loved the play with texture in this collection – ruffles, organza, sheer panels, tulle and pleating all came together in creating structured dresses. These short, flirty dresses had us craving summer cocktail parties.
It was all about poolside sophistication for Jayson Brunsdon. Crisp white was complemented by powder blue, tangerine and lemon hues. We had to pick our jaws up off the floor as Samantha Harris strode down the catwalk in to-die-for high waisted, multi-hued shorts and a crisp white shirt. The maxi trend made an appearance in a show-stopping white gown and a large Hawaiian floral print dress.
Lisa Ho brought her signature use of prints to the runway with a palette of nudes, purples and moss tones. Drapery and layering created beautiful feminine silhouettes. Skin-tight wrap ensembles were a favourite along with masculine, crisp white shirts and printed cigarette pants.
Stunning evening gowns were key in Rachel Gilbert’s collection. Cut-out detailing and strong colours were a refreshing change from previous collections while more classic black and white pieces added sophistication to the collection. We saw a lot of one-shouldered pieces that gave eveningwear an edge.
Aurelio Costarella brought drama to the floor with floor-length gowns, touches of fur and tough shoulders. The nearly all black collection was made interesting with texture. Fur, leather, taffeta, lace and sequins were all incorporated into runway looks.
Luxury Lingerie line Ms Couture displayed sexy boned corsets, incredible night robes and stunning fur all in classic black, white and nude. We can’t get enough of Ms Couture’s beautiful collection that manages to ooze sex appeal while staying classy.
Rescu. favourite Alex Perry was last down the runway showing everything we have come to expect from his collection. Layers and layers of tulle made nude floor length dresses magical while micro-mini nudes were treated with silver sequins. White lace, beautiful structures and pretty full skirts all created a lady-like sophistication that screams red carpet.
