She says “To celebrate and complement the key looks from the past 15 years in fashion, I wanted to capture a sense of modern elegance and femininity in the hair”.
Sophie gave the classic 1950s French roll-up a modern edge by creating dishevelled texture. The result was an organically twisted, effortless but elegant up-do.
How to:
1. Prepare the hair with Redken Touch Control 05 through the lengths to build volume and texture from root to tip. This will also create an airy softness through the hair. Blast dry.
2. Section the hair into two sections from the temples (top and bottom) and using curling tongs, curl the top section of hair to create workable fullness and texture.
3. Relax the curls by brushing them out with a soft bristle brush. This will help create softness and undone texture in the top section. Spray with Redken Workforce 09 for hold and flexibility.
4. Gather the hair in the top section by rolling it together and gently pushing it into a quiff shape.Pin into place.
5. To create the French roll, gather the lengths at the nape.
Twist up in an anti-clockwise direction, roll up and secure with hair pins.
Finish with Redken Forceful 23 to lock the style in place. All Redken products are available in selected Salons.
