Proving she has both beauty and talent to boot, Scarlett Johansson has picked a Tony award for her debut on Broadway.
The 64th Tony Awards, held at Radio City Music Hall in NYC last night, is a highly revered award ceremony, recognising excellence in live American Theatre scene.
The 25-year-old turned heads in her stunning emerald green Elie Saab gown, as she took home the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for her role in A View from the Bridge.
“Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be on Broadway and here I am,” she said.
Other big winners on the night included Denzel Washington, who picked up the Tony award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his role in Fences, and Catherine Zeta-Jones who won Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her role in A Little Night Music.
During her acceptance speech, Catherine, who looked elegant in a strapless baby blue Versace gown, pointed to her hubby Michael Douglas and declared: “See that man there? He’s a movie star, and I get to sleep with him every night.”
Later, backstage the actress said: ‘I can’t believe I said something like that. Just can’t believe I said something as crass as that.’
