Fashion trend forecaster Tony Bannister edits the key trends on the London runways for AW12 and picks the top 5 designers for the trend Fragile Pastels.
After seasons of bold brights and clashing colour combo’s as Tony predicted designers returned to softer colour palettes for AW12. From delicate cosmetic neutrals to 50’s inspired retro pastels, fragile colours were the season’s new heroines. Tony’s top 5 designers are;
Acne spliced soft pastels and neutrals in dramatic geometric patterns to create desirable suits and dresses.
Antonio Berardi used pastels head-to-toe, cutting sculptured silhouettes to create modern feminine looks
Giles used texture and prints in delicate neutrals to create a contemporary take on Elizabethan proportions and Jonathan Saunders (pictured) mixed retro pastels to create an elegant collection of modern separates
Pringle showed pretty angora knits in pastel pinks and blues, and
Matthew Williamson used pale blue in sharp suits and dresses.
