At the end of day two, it was off to Versace for a red carpet worthy show. Like many of the shows, both this season as well as last, it was back to the 80s, for what can only be described as a very Versace show.
The 80s after all were the era when supermodels, big hair and super designer Gianni Versace ruled the catwalks. In 2009, big jet-set hair and supermodels are back in Vogue, and whilst Gianni may be long gone, his sister Donatella has made sure that his legacy and memory lives on with a collection of clothes that are filled with all of his signature touches.
Think show girl glamour, thigh-high splits, tight, perky bustiers, micro miniskirts embellished with Perspex fabric, key hole cut outs on candy coloured chiffon gowns, chain and mesh detailing and ultra-high platform heels. All elements highlighted and accentuated the female form and curves and there was one thing that was for sure; this show was all about bringing Versace and sexy back.
