The quiet of the night was broken on Saturday with the sounds of 6000 women running unleashed. The Nike She Runs 10k was a thrilling event that gave women rare and exclusive access to Centennial Park for a race experience like no other.

Lead by race ambassadors model Jodi Anasta, actress Rhiannon Fish and athlete Kelly Hetherington, women were encouraged to unleash their inner Lioness, Cheetah or Tigress to take on the night. Women were inspired and encouraged to achieve their very best and tap into their inner-strength and courage – an exciting and innovative opportunity.
Nike had promised ‘a few surprises along the way’ and attendees were not disappointed. The race track was littered with neon lights, sparkling disco balls, ultra-violet illuminated trees and, once racers had progressed further towards their goals, shooting jets of fire and projections of their animal race personas running along side them. With such excitement in store it was easy for racers to place mind over matter and exceed their fitness expectations.
‘We created a race experience that genuinely engaged and inspired our runners from those who were in it to win it to those there to finish and enjoy,’ said Juliana Nguyen, Marketing Director at Nike Pacific. ‘6000 women owned the night on Saturday making this our most successful She Runs.’
After the race, women were given ample opportunity to celebrate. A 700sqm custom-built shipping container village had been constructed in the middle of the park with all proceedings directed by Legally Blonde star, Erika Heynatz. The village was equiped with food vans, massage stations, relaxation zones and live performances from The Faders and Justice Crew. Excitement and energy ruled the night with women smashing their goals and dancing on mass in a celebration of women and a healthy lifestyle.
