Former ‘Boho’ queen, Sienna Miller explains how she has moved on in the style stakes and Natalie Portman’s chosen shade of lipstick with Dior will donate the proceeds to the Free the Child Foundation.
Sienna Miller hates her style being described as “boho”. The’Factory Girl’ actress – who is expecting her first child with partner Tom Sturridge – admits she previously went through a “hippie” phase of dressing and while she is now a fan of more tailored clothes, she thinks her laid-back attitude is still reflected in her wardrobe.
She said, “I hate the word boho so much now. I suppose I am inherently bohemian in terms of the way I am as a person, and I definitely went through a hippie phase with my style. But I think it’s really more about the way my personality is, than the way I dress. Now that I’m a bit older I do appreciate tailoring much more than I used to, but my personality is still very laid-back. Even when I put on a power suit I still look like a hippie, so I suppose it’s true.”
In February, Sienna and her sister Savannah announced they were stepping down from their label Twenty8Twelve and the actress revealed her sibling is already working hard on a new venture.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “My sister is an amazing designer – she’s working on her new label at the moment. “In fact she’s designing in my attic as we speak. I just can’t wait to wear all of the pieces.”
A lipstick chosen by Natalie Portman for Dior will give its proceeds to the Free the Child Foundation.
The Oscar-winning actress – who is the face of Miss Dior fragrance and Diorskin Nude foundation – is an ambassador for the charity, which helps liberate children from poverty, and chose it to receive money made from the sale of Rouge Dior’s Nude Grege lipstick. She revealed she picked the shade due to its number 169 having a special meaning to her.
She said, “Six is the month that my whole family was born in — everyone was born in June. We’re all June babies. Nine is a magic number, and one is my son – his name is one in Hebrew, Aleph.”
Natalie – who is married to ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied – has a long history with Dior, and recently auctioned off a vintage 1954 dress by the house she wore to the Oscars this year. Speaking to the website 1stdibs.com which arranged the sale, Rare Vintage owner Juliana Carione said, “Natalie wore a dress that she fell in love with. It was the perfect dress on the perfect girl. I think it was also a great tribute to the modernity and timelessness of vintage fashion.”
