Simon Baker had an extra special Valentine’s Day this year – he was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Meanwhile Brad and Angelina have an interesting new venture that has nothing to do with acting…
Baker joins iconic names such as Mickey Mouse, Frank Sinatra and James Dean on the Walk and a growing number of celebrated Aussies on the Hollywood Hall of Fame.The 43-year-old Tasmanian wasn’t too shy to shed a tear on being awarded one of tinsel-town’s most wanted accolades. Fellow Aussie star Naomi Watts presented Baker with the star.
Naomi, who is godmother to Baker’s son was just one of a number of friends and family there to cheer Simon on. Simon’s wife, Rebecca Rigg, daughter Stella, and sons Claude and Harry were seated in the front row.
Baker, who is acclaimed for his work on The Mentalist, credited his success as an actor to his family. ‘Kids this is for you,’ he said, ‘My cup runneth over.’
Baker’s achievement isn’t just a personal one, it represents the success of many Australians making it big in LA LA Land. So, which other Aussie’s have earned themselves a brass star?
Hugh Jackman is another recent addition, earning his star as recently as December. Others include Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe.

The Hollywood power couple are in collaboration with Marc Perrin, a French winegrower, for the venture which will see a 2012 vintage pink rosé called Miraval released in March this year. The drop is made with organic grapes from Chateau Miraval, the couple’s estate, and it is expected the line will be expanding to include organic white and red wines later in the year.
Unfortunately, the wines will be US release only so you’ll have to ask your American friends to stock up for you!
