Gorgeous director Sofia Coppola was married over the weekend in a private ceremony in Italy.
Meanwhile, back home, Alexa Chung has just landed ahead of her hosting gig for 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty and Miranda Kerr has returned to her home soil after a brief stint in New Zealand.
Sofia Coppola’s Lavender Wedding
Marie Antoinette director Sofia Coppola tied the knot with her long-time beau Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars on Saturday. The pair wed in the hometown of Coppola’s grandparents, the Southern Italian region of Bernalda at the family villa, Palazzo Margherita.
An estimate of eighty guests, including Johnny Depp and George Lucas, looked on as her famous father, Francis Ford Coppola, walked the bride down the aisle.
Filmmaker Sofia, 40, bucked tradition and opted for a stunning lavender print gown designed for her by Azzedine Alaia. Her hair was worn down and her make-up simple, ever the casual beauty. The groom, 34, wore a navy suit and father of the bride Francis Ford wore white linen with a pink suit.
The colourful wedding was officiated by Bernalda’s mayor Leonardo Chiruzzi who said, “Everything went well. It was simple, calm in the garden.”
Congratulations to the happy couple and their daughters Romy, 4 ½, and Cosima, 15 months.
Alexa Chung Touches Down
After tweeting yesterday that she was “packing for OZ,” it seems Alexa Chung has finally hit Sydney soil, tweeting, “HI SYDNEY! Thanks Qantas for using words like “snuggle” on the plane. 30 days of fashion and beauty :-). Neglected to pack properly…” going on, “expect underwhelming outfit choices plucked from ltd resources (6 skirts, no tops). Well done me. 🙁 #shoppingtodayisit?”
We’ll be keeping an eye out in Sydney’s shopping hotspots like The Intersection at Paddington for a glimpse at the stylish star today!
The face of Lacoste and all-round it-girl is in town to officially launch the 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty for ACP Magazines. It is her very first visit to Australia with her first official appearance scheduled for a Wednesday morning press call followed by the huge launch party at which the star will DJ.
Alexa joins other ambassadors Alyssa Sutherland, Sarah Stephens and Heidi Harrington-Johnson.
Miranda Kerr Back Home
Australia’s favourite supermodel Miranda Kerr hit home soil again over the weekend to promote her organic skin care line Kora Organics at David Jones on Melbourne’s Bourke Street.
The glamazon and her adorable son Flynn landed on Friday after spending some time in New Zealand with husband Orlando Bloom. She wore a simple white shirt with a camel-coloured leather skirt and dark tan heels as she told fans about the range that she says is a reflection on her passion for living a healthy, organic lifestyle.
Sydneysiders will have their chance to meet Kerr today at the David Jones city store from 12pm where the David Jones ambassador will be signing autographs for fans.
