Never far from the press these days, it appears Solange Knowles knows not the uh, social graces of the Lavazza Marquee. She made quite a scene at Derby Day Carnival at the weekend, according to Channel 7 reporter, Rachael Finch.
The former Miss Universe Australia, 26, revealed all the details on the infamous singer, 28, as she attended the race day, to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on their morning radio show.
“I had a very interesting experience, we had a scheduled 1pm interview with Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s sister … everything was ready to go, I was all nervous, I had all my questions … I had them all there written, ready to go,” Finch spilled.
“All of a sudden the PR comes over and goes, ‘I’m sorry, Solange is still in her hotel, she won’t be here till 2pm.’”
Solange was said to have spent the whole morning shopping for a black and white outfit to wear, as part of Derby Day’s traditional dress code. Beyonce’s sister eventually turned up for her scheduled interview at 2.30 that afternoon.
Finch, who is a regular fashion reporter on the Spring Racing scene, said Channel Seven has to reschedule the rest of the day’s interviews and filming to due to Solange’s tardiness.
“We go back, we reschedule the whole damn day, we come back for 2pm, she’s still running late then her PR tells us ‘Beyonce and family issues are off limits’”
“She walked into the Lavazza Marquee who are paying God knows how much to have her there, you can imagine the dollar and she would not hold a Lavazza cup! She goes: ‘No thanks, I’m not doing that,’” Racheal added.
Lavazza owner John Valmorbida was said to have tried to persuade the Solange to appear in her press pictures with a Lavazza cup in her hand.
Lastly, the two-hour-late Diva only put her DJ skills to use for 20 minutes instead of her allotted hour set.
