Rescu. Loves Sophie Moran
For Sophie Moran, quality is next to comfort in her top priorities for the perfect knit. The label’s knits are woven out of luxurious yarns such as cashmere and merino wool. Her self-named label was founded in 2011, when the designer saw a gap in the market for high quality easy to wear knitwear. With their gorgeous gelato colour palettes and cute hearts, we couldn’t help but fall in love!
Sophie began her career as a lingerie designer, a field where a great fit and luxurious materials are of the highest importance. Her education in balancing quality and the needs of women helped her develop the refined approach to her knitwear label. Her father, who pioneered Moran Furniture has also influenced Sophie’s brand philosophy, as well as desire to create product of a high standard. Though she first began selling only to close friends, the demand for her super sweet knits saw her business expand, and Sophie Moran knits are now sold in over 70 stores in Australia, as well as online. Sophie explains of her desire to develop her label;
“I couldn’t find the perfect knit. I wanted something that was casual and relaxed yet still stylish and cool! I decided if I couldn’t find it, I’m sure other people can’t as well and that’s how it all started. My main aim was to create fantastic fitting sweaters that made women feel amazing the minute they tried it on.”
Since 2011 Sophie’s business has developed to ranges of knits, vests, dresses and t- shirts with further designs and styles on the horizon. We wear ours with pale skinny jeans and ankle boots- Modern chic with a twist!

The New Twin by Gasparre Cashmere
There’s something about the classic twinset, isn’t there. Pair it with pearls and reference Old New York glamour, or pair with white Bermuda shorts and evoke cocktail-filled summer parties at the Hamptons. Gasperre Cashmere have taken the chic number, and reinvented it with cool stripes and delicious hues that we simply adore.
Taking the two-piece shirt and cardigan on a trip to candyland, the pieces remind us of a liquorice cubes and old-fashioned boiled sweets, the perfect accessory to everyday jeans-and-boots attire. The twin-set is also the most practical of pieces- with clever layering built in!

Alannah Hill Walks Away From Label
One of Australia’s most beloved and bold fashion designers, Alannah Hill recently announced her decision to leave the fashion brand she founded 18 years ago. In a statement released this week, Hill announced the termination of her employment by Factory X, the Melbourne business that has financially backed the brand for years. Although Factory X will continue to operate Alannah Hill stores nation-wide, the brand’s namesake will no longer design for, or have any creative input in the brand.
In a statement, Ms Hill said: “I am deeply saddened to make this monumental decision. I was completely devoted to my label and all that it represents to girls Australia-wide.
“My heart, my soul, my every little thing has been poured into creating a brand for girls who love and share my vision of ornamental, sensational and beautiful clothes.”
Despite this news, it doesn’t look as though Hill will be disappearing from the fashion world for good; she said in her statement that she intends to continue to create fashion that radiates “joy and the power of transformation.”
