You know you’ve really enjoyed a beauty experience when you can’t find fault with it. From the welcome, to the treatment, to the actual spa facility, eforea Spa at the Hilton Surfers Paradise is a pleasure.
Situated on level 2 of the hotel it is unusually blessed with great views from each of the treatment rooms which look out onto the pool level which has numerous grassed and garden areas despite its distance from the ground.
The name eforea is a created one meant to mean “to emerge brighter” but it sounds, to me, tantalisingly like euphoria. And so my Summer Reviver treatment is. It’s described as a triple-effect spa journey and includes 90 minutes of full-body salt exfoliation, massage and facial with Kerstin Florian products. This company was founded in the States in 1978 by Swedish-born Florian.
Therapist, Lesley, is a skilled one. I’ve had enough treatments – some from those French ones touted as the best in the world – to know as soon as a therapist lays hands on me whether they’re skilled. Lesley had that deft touch which told me she knew what she was doing!
She asked me to choose an oil to blend with the Turkish-style scrub by waving tree uncapped bottles of the unction under my nose. Cleverly, I couldn’t see the label so I chose blind the scent which most appealed.
My treatment room had its own shower, providing privacy to quickly wash off all the exfoliating particles before beginning the massage.
Eforea is beautifully appointed with seven treatment rooms and a lovely transition lounge where you’re welcome to stay afterwards to relax with magazines and herbal tea. The double rooms have steam rooms and a private courtyard for some post-treatment champagne and fruit perhaps?
The whole experience was most professional, enhanced by modern new surroundings.
