Spring Racing season has arrived and the celebrity attendance is going to be a big one this year.
We bring you a round up of which celebrities to look out for at each racing event!
Adding some glamour to the first big day of Flemington’s four-day carnival, is Australian actress Nicole Kidman.
Kidman will be attending Derby Day on November 3 as the global ambassador of Swisse.
The 45-year-old starlet said she wanted to bring her husband Keith Urban to Melbourne, but he had commitments in the US with American Idol.
Instead she is bringing her parents, Antony and Janelle Kidman.
But it will be a brief trip back home for Kidman since she will be in the country for only 24 hours.
She will fly in from Nice, France, where she is playing Grace Kelly in the film Grace Of Monaco.
Kidman is expected to be at the track for two hours, she will then fly back to France to continue filming.
The King of Italian Glamour, Roberto Cavalli will also be a special guest of the Lavazza Bar on Derby Day.
Lavazza Business Manager Trent Knox said of Cavalli’s attendance: “We are thrilled to host Mr Cavalli on our all Italian theme on Derby Day, where we will share Lavazza’s love of Italian fashion, fine food and wine and entertainment with all our guests.”
Adding a Royal touch to Emirates Melbourne Cup Day on November 6 is Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who will attend the big day as a part of their Australian Tour.
The Duchess of Cornwell will present the cup, while Prince Charles will present the Diamond Jubilee Plate, named in honour of the Queen and to be run straight after the Melbourne Cup.
Stunning Australian actress Rose Byrne has also confirmed attendance on Melbourne Cup Day as a guest of Lexus.
“I am thrilled to be attending this year’s Melbourne Cup as a guest of Lexus. I’m delighted to be back Australia for the Spring Racing Carnival, and I am looking forward to the trackside style and generous hospitality of the Lexus Design Pavilion” the Bridesmaids actress said.
Guests of the big day can also keep their eyes peeled for former O.C. star turned designer Mischa Barton.
Barton, who has been busy launching a handbag line and opening a fashion boutique in Spitalfields, London, said she was looking forward to the event.
“I am excited to visit Flemington racecourse and witness what I understand is an extraordinary fashion spectacle.”
After enjoying the comforts of the Emirates marquee, she will watch the famous race from the Chairman’s Suite.
Last but not least, Sex and the City starlet Kim Cattrall who played ‘Samantha Jones’ on the hit series will also be a guest of Swisse for the Melbourne Cup carnival’s Crown Oak Day on November 8, widely known as ‘Ladies Day’ with the heavy focus on fashion at the event.
“I have been talking about coming to Melbourne for many, many years and everyone tells me there is no better time to be enjoying the city than during the Cup carnival,” Cattrall said.
She is bringing a family friend with her to Australia and it is believed she has extended her trip to include a week of sightseeing around Victoria.
