Stars of Film and Television are Celebrated at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards including all the Winners

It was a big night for the heavyweights of Hollywood at the 69^th Annual Golden Globe Awards 2012 with high profile actors, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams once again proving their acting chops by taking out the top gongs. After predicting he would win nothing, it turned out to be quite the night for silver screen veteran George Clooney at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards. Clooney received the title for Best Actor in a Drama for his role in The Descendants, which also won Best Drama. The descendants producer, Tim Burke describing him as “the quarter-back of the cast”. It was also a memorable night for the cast and crew of The Artist. The black-and-white film was acknowledged with Best Comedy or Musical Film, Best Original Score and Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Film for Jean Dujardin. Uggie, the adorable Jack Russell terrier from the film, showed he loves the spotlight by almost upstaging the acceptance speech by performing several tricks on stage, including playing dead!

With her seventh win at the golden Globes, Meryl Streep, won Best Actress in a Drama for her faultless portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady and dedicated her speech to “everybody in England that let me come and trample all over their history.”

Ethereal actress, Michelle Williams, won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her performance of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. “Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for putting in my hand the same award that Marilyn Monroe herself won over 50 years ago.”

And not to be forgotten golden girl Madonna receieved a Globe for Best Original song,‘Masterpiece’ on the W.E soundtrack.
