The American Music Awards took place this week at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles with Heidi Klum hosting, Rihanna performing and much more.
Much to the delight of his screaming fans sixteen-year-old heart-throb Justin Bieber took out no less than four massive awards including Favourite Artist. Bieber’s mentor, Usher was awarded a Favourite Soul/Rhythm and Blues Music and Favourite Album as well.
Rihanna impressed with a new ‘do, a shoulder length eighties-perm style in bright red. Her arrival dress was a red backless gown from Elie Saab. She later changed into a gorgeous gray dress from the same designer which she donned while collecting her Favourite Soul/R&B Female award.
Her quirky-cool onstage look comprised of a black and white graphic midriff top, a multi-coloured shawl and black hot pants. Towards the close of her performance she put a pretty peach sheath and finished her epic performance, a medley of her many hits, to a standing ovation from the audience.
Katy Perry wore a super-cute and uncharacteristically demure knee-length, soft pink dress from Badgley Mischka. She later showed off her incredible body in a sparkly red cat suit for the performance of her latest hit ‘Firework’.
Newly pregnant Pink had her growing baby bump on display in a black Janey Lopaty Vintage Couture dress while her proud husband, Carey Hart, looked on. She performed ‘Raise Your Glass’ for the audience in black and gold ensemble. The energetic performance showed the star manages to maintain her incredible stage presence even when pregnant!
The night was a huge success with incredible performances, worthy winners and an completely star studded line up.
