Just because you’re a mother doesn’t mean you can’t look stylish when you travel. Take inspiration from celebrity moms like Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie, who always look like a million bucks even when they are toting their tots.
If celebrities can get away with mink coats and Birkin bags (hello: Mrs. Beckham!) when traveling with kids, you can certainly stand to add a little chic to your travel wardrobe. Check out the outfit below to see just how to get their looks.
Sass and Bide Black Rats: You’ve got to get the basics right. Stretchy, comfy, versatile, and most important… BLACK! Spill anything on these puppies and wipe the evidence right off without anyone ever knowing! And sure, you must be thinking you can get a pair of leggings at Target at a fraction of the price but guaranteed they won’t last as long. Further, these leggings are so well crafted, they will hold in all those loose, fleshy bit and make your thighs look like Victoria Beckham’s (sorta).
Duffy Cotton and Cashmere Blend Cardigan: I love this because it is soft and long enough but doesn’t get in the way. The cotton-cashmere blend will get you through frigid airplane temperatures but is still lightweight enough for when you land in the tropics.
Cotton On Prime Oversize Top: Fitted enough to be stylish and loose enough to be comfy, the Oversize tee comes in your basic grey, black and whites so you are free to accessorize. Plus they are long if you’re conscious about your bum and thighs. I usually have an extra in my bag just in case.
Thorlo Athletic Casual Crew Socks: My husband got me onto these as he wears them for tennis and now I can’t go back. I tend to get very cold on my toes so I put these on as soon as I get on the flight for warmth, comfort and padded goodness. Plus they are so thick you don’t worry about what you are stepping on. (Think: airplane bathroom after 10 hours in air).
My Faithful Gucci Messenger Bag: We all know, if you’re going to spring, spring for a classic bag that will last you a lifetime. This one has. It slings over my shoulder so my hands are free (especially important if you are a mum!), this bag fits all I need: passports, wallet, sunglasses, ipad, and a small toilet kit with travel toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, moisturizer, hairbrush and eyeliner. Neat!
Tory Burch Caroline Ballet Flat: The right footwear is essential, particularly on a long haul. You have to be comfortable and mobile so that you can walk down seemingly endless airport terminals, as well as stand sturdy as you heave your overweight suitcase off the conveyor belt. But most importantly, you have to be trendy! These shoes do it all!
