A ponytail isn’t always a quick fix for a night on the treadmill. Redken Hair Director Philip Barwick showed just how sophisticated the classic ponytail can be.Barwick said “the look was all about creating a wearable, polished up-style that wasn’t overly contrived. We kept the ponytail sleek, smooth and glossy for chic, resort-like quality. For summer, nothing beats a simple, fresh-faced look paired with a clean, sleek ponytail.”
How to recreate the look:
1. Apply Redken Touch Control 05 to towel dried hair to build volume at the roots and to encourage the hair to stay put in the ponytail.
Blow dry the hair, brushing it hair back off the face and drying the lengths straight.
2. Spray with Redken Workforce 09 for flexible hold and comb into a ponytail and tie off.
Use a fine tooth comb for a smooth and precise finish.
3. Remove this section of hair from the pony tail to wrap around the elastic, covering it completely and secure underneath with a pin.
HINT: apply heat to seal and hold the wrapped piece into place.
4. For an incredible high shine finish, lightly mist over the finished look with Redken Vinyl Glam 02.
