Zimmermann Resort Swim 2014
For their Resort Swim 2014 campaign, Zimmermann set off for the British Virgin Islands. Shot amidst the dramatic volcanic grottoes of The Baths on Virgin Gorda, surrounded by huge granite boulders and calm aqua waters, the campaign features doe eyed international model Eniko Mihalik. On-the-rise fashion photographer Darren McDonald took control of the camera, and the result is a campaign that projects the soft femininity for which Zimmermann is beloved, with a sharp modern edge.
The silhouettes deconstruct the lines of the collection as it progresses. Technical panelling shifts to overtly simple and clean designs, and paisley, floral and leopard prints are spliced with mesh, alluding to lingerie and corsets, with scalloped edges, latticed lace and fine embedded laddering.
In a sportier mood than Zimmermann is known for, the collection also features sleek, fast-paced shapes with edgy finishes and textural lycra. Zippers undo halter necks, bonded fabrications mould to the body, necklines plunge nodding undeniably to the ’80s.
To complements this eclectic mix of styles is a breezy apparel collection, filled with sheer white cotton voile, embroidered florals and light cheesecloth. Accessories bridge the divide between sweet, and street, with high top sneakers, duffle bags, baseball caps, towels and crisscross leather sandals.
This month also saw Zimmermann expand its New York store to a bigger flagship at 55 Mercer Street, Soho, marking the opening of the brand’s biggest store worldwide, and its continuing global focus.

C&M Camilla and Marc Resort
The Resort collection for Camilla and Marc‘s secondary line C&M has just dropped, and brings the laid-back chic of the diffusion line to Summer 2013.
The collection includes a range of soft skater dresses, logo tees and sport luxe wear in mesh, gingham and chambray styles, as well as killer high shine bandage dresses, and metallic pieces for balmy summer parties.
C&M swim channels Jackie O prep, with classic and more contemporary cuts in black, navy and white. The modern looks are razor sharp, with ‘80s halter necks, and slick wet look finishes, while the classic zip front, strapless full piece exudes effortless sophistication.
Rescu. Loves: The cheeky tees! There’s a white number that features the Mona Lisa in shades, stamped with the word SELFIE, along with some casual C&M logo shirts in monochrome and baby blue, and a cute top featuring a French play on words. We absolutely adore this collection, with hints of gold, gorgeous prints and chambray basics in every desirable cut. Set for Summer.

WORK IT OUT with Sportsgirl
Sportsgirl recently announced the launch of their first active wear collection WORK IT OUT, and it brings the fun back to working up a sweat.
The range includes 10 active wear essentials bursting with vibrant colours and a retro ‘80s vibe, with singlets in neon pink, orange fizz, and tangerine paired with black layering pieces and contrast detail on black basics.
Key pieces include the Line Detail Cami in neon pink with contrasting black detail, along with the retro-inspired Sprint Short in charcoal. The collection also includes yoga mats, wristbands, bright flip top water bottles and gym towels.
Sportsgirl’s collaborations in recent years have brought them back into the fold of Australian high street stores that are offering something fresh and exciting to their customers, and now their first activewear range sees the retailer expanding their scope once again.
We love the neon brights, as well as the fact they’ve made yoga mats in such fun colours! A welcome alternative to the more serious work-out wear available that fits perfectly with the Sportsgirl ethos of fun fashion that suits the Australian lifestyle.
With prices ranging from $6.95 to $59.95, there is no excuse not to “work it out” this summer.
