Akira Isogawa has been announced as ambassador for Cara&Co’s ‘Synergy of Art & Fashion’ charity exhibition. The brainchild of concept store Cara&Co, Synergy of Art & Fashion is a unique exhibition of one-off fashion pieces and artworks by 17 internationally acclaimed designers. The designers to create striking pieces that illustrated the philosophy of the store: “practically nothing divides fashion and art”.
One of Australia’s most celebrated designers, Akira Isogawa, is the official ambassador for the exhibition, and has crafted one of the avant-garde exhibition items. Isogawa has a longstanding relationship with Cara&Co, designing exclusive capsule collections for the stores in Sydney and Moscow.
Other participants include French designers Anne Valérie Hash, Casey Vidalenc, Tzuri Gueta and Charlie Le Mindu; Belgian designers Christophe Coppens, Delvaux, Tim Van Steenbergen, and Jean-Paul Knott; British label Queen and Belle; and New Zealand label Zambesi. These talented designers all see fashion as a creative sphere where a sense of aesthetic and creativity takes a material form, not simply a commercial enterprise.
The exhibition will be followed by an auction, with all proceeds going to owner Rosa Alpert’s charity, The Sound World Australia, which rehabilitates deaf children.
The official launch of the exhibition took place on 5 March 2011 in Paris at the Vendôme Luxury salon in luxe hotel Le Meurice, drawing over 300 people including members of the business élite, and art and fashion circles of Paris, Moscow and beyond.
The Synergy of Art & Fashion exhibition arrives in Sydney on 15 March 2012, and will be displayed on Level 3 of Westfield Sydney until 21 March, 2012
