The Bachelor Australia Gossip
The latest series of The Bachelor Australia kicked off on Monday night and already it’s dominating water cooler conversations around the nation! Now two pieces of news have hit that are making it all the more interesting.
Firstly, news has hit that one of the contestants, Sherri Mathieson, is one degree of separation from none other than former Prime Minister Julia Gillard! The 29-year-old makeup artist has so far been under the radar but all that’s about to change as she’s been exposed as the daughter of Tim Mathieson – partner of Gillard!
The hopeful told Fairfax she had spoken to her father before she went on and that, “he was quite open-minded… he said go on, be yourself, have fun, that kind of thing. [He said] play it a bit cool, don’t go crazy.”
As for her thoughts on our former PM, Sherri had only positive things to say; “She is really lovely and she has that charisma and that warmth when you do meet her. She’s really funny as well, and I think people never got to see that.”
Secondly, a very interesting tidbit about Tim Robards. The Bachelor prize, has been revealed. When tuning in on Monday night, Sydney Morning Herald writer Amy Cooper recognised Robards… but it wasn’t just his face that stuck out. As it turns out, Cooper had spotted Robards, “half-dressed as a sailor, doctor, teacher, cop, gladiator, lifesaver, painted gold…” on the Sydney events circuit as a topless model for male model agency Topless Events!
This news is a little contrary to his portrayal on the show as an almost-sheltered man looking for the girl of his dreams, but Sydney’s social circle have insisted that this now-chiropractor is as nice as they come and a total gentleman deserving of genuine love – let’s hope he finds it in The Bachelor house!
The Toddler Fash Pack
It’s one thing to wear the latest designer look straight off the runway, but donning a piece ahead of the shows? That is the ultimate style statement and latest fashionista to work it is still only a toddler…
Alexander Wang’s three-year-old niece Aila Wang was spotted at the space for her uncle’s New York Fashion Week show wearing a brand new slogan tee, that slightly inappropriately reads ‘Parental Advisory Explicit Content’, moments before Georgia Mae Jagger walked down the runway in it.
That wasn’t the end of it either, this sure-to-be-cult sweater was teamed with a leather mini skirt, white socks, and 90s-esque shower slides, and the second she entered swarms of photographers gathered to catch a shot of the next-season-now moment. Let us remind you we’re talking about a three-year-old here!
Aila isn’t the only toddler on the fashion week circuit either — earlier on in the week Harper Beckham was spotted at mum Victoria Beckham’s show sitting beside none other than Anna Wintour. Wearing a sweet-as-sugar pale blue dress and with her hair in a top-knot, Harper attracted a whole lot of media attention front row and backstage.
With these two having their outfits scrutinized and their faces photographed before they’ve even hit preschool, we can’t help but wonder what the future holds…
Men of Style Awards
Last night Sydney’s Ivy Penthouse was the place to be for local celebs who stepped out for the Men of Style 10th Anniversary Party.
Men’s Style anniversary issue cover girl Megan Gale was in attendance and posed on the red carpet in a stunning printed frock with a sexy slit that showed off just enough leg. She was snapped alongside other Aussie babes Laura Dundovic and Nikki Phillips while Michelle Bridges and her ex-husband Bill Moore posed together.
Naturally, there were plenty of ‘Men of Style’ in attendance as well with Tom Williams, Didier Cohen, James Tobin, Geoff Huegill and more all looking dapper in their black-tie best.
