If last season is anything to go by, we know Channel 9’s Logie winning renovation series, The Block: Glasshouse, will be our new reality TV guilty pleasure. Before it starts this Sunday, what better way to prepare ourselves then get to know the five pairs of Blockheads who will battle it out for the winning sum come auction day.

The Glasshouse blockheads include, married couple Darren and Deanne (Melb); Michael and Carlene (Gold Coast); Karstan and Maxine (Newcastle); siblings Shannon and Simon (Tasmania); and Jenna and Chris (Sydney).
The teams will be re-developing a 1980s three-storey, 3540-square metre office building into five split-level atrium apartments, underground car parks and 70-metre lockup storage units in the Melbourne shopping destination of Prahran. Gold Logie winner, host Scott Cam is worried that perhaps the show has taken on too much.
“I still think we have taken on too much, but I’ll be proved wrong come auction day when we have some of the most phenomenal luxury apartments we have ever seen in the heart of Prahran.”
As well as the living quarters, the couples must also work together to transform the ground floor into 254 square metres of retail and commercial space. This year’s project will be even more difficult with budgets kept to the $100,000 limit (plus sponsor bonuses) of previous seasons.
