After two months spent dodging the cameras, The Hills star Heidi Montag has unveiled her new ‘tweaked’ face and body, following a whopping 10 surgeries in one day.
The 23-year-old reality TV star went in for her second lot of plastic surgery in November of last year- this time her procedures included a brow lift, botox in her forehead, a nose job revision, fat injections in her cheeks, a chin reduction, neck liposuction, liposuction on her waist, hips, inner and outer thighs, buttocks augmentation, larger breast implants inserted, and she also had her ears pinned back.
Heidi has received intense media scrutiny following the surgery, with some likening her new appearance to that of a ‘40-year-old woman’. Others have slammed her for setting a bad example for her young fans, and accused her of being ‘addicted to plastic surgery’.
When asked how she would respond to these claims, Heidi told People Magazine: “I would say none of those people know me at all, and that’s just a judgement. I’m not addicted. If you’re addicted to something you have to do it all the time, not once every couple of years, if even” she said.
But why would an already gorgeous young woman have so much work done at such a young age? Heidi blames the competitiveness of the music industry. “I’m trying to be a pop star, and I just have my album that came out.” Montag told People Magazine (FYI- her album is aptly called Superficial) “And you know, it’s a very cutthroat industry, and a very cutthroat business. And when Britney Spears was in her prime, it was her sex appeal that sold. And without that sex appeal, I don’t know if she would have had the career she would have had.”
Heidi also told People Magazine that her insecurities stemmed from childhood taunts and nasty Internet bloggers. “I was made fun of when I was younger, and so I had insecurities, especially after I moved to LA. People said I had a ‘Jay Leno chin’; they’d circle it on blogs and say nasty things. It bothered me. And when I watched myself on The Hills, my ears would be sticking out like Dumbo! I just wanted to feel more confident and look in the mirror and be like, “Whoa! That’s me! I was an ugly duckling before.”
However it’s not only the media slamming her surgery. According to Life & Style Magazine, Heidi has reportedly been inundated with harsh hate mail from the public following her big reveal, with some letters going so far as to say that her plastic surgery was ‘against God’s will’.
Surprisingly, Heidi’s hubby (and perennial publicity seeker) Spencer Pratt did not approve of the surgeries either, telling People Magazine that his wife of one year was perfect to begin with. “Anytime I hinted that it might be a little much or if I just asked if she was sure, I even felt like I was crossing line.” Spencer said. “I’m not in charge of what she does with any part of her body, I’m her husband – not her owner. Everyone sees themselves differently when they look in the mirror- nobody truly understands how she feels except her. I may not be okay with things, but it’s not my call.”
If you ask us, we think Heids looked pretty damn close-to-perfect pre-surgery!
