The David Jones Spring/Summer 2012 collection launch promises to be a parade of the latest trends in Australian fashion. But RESCU’s eyes will be peeled not only for the threads – David Jones has gathered an uber squad of models to walk down the runway. Here, we profile the home-grown models who have made waves overseas and will land on our shores for the hottest launch of the season.

Miranda Kerr:
Miranda Kerr is quite the chameleon. The Gunnedah native transforms from Victoria’s Secret angel to Balenciaga campaign face with unprecedented ease. Mrs Orlando Bloom is also mother to son Flynn and has an organic skincare line KORA. Her recent coups include walking for Miu Miu and Chanel in the F/W ’12 shows and gracing the August 2012 covers of Vogue Turkey and Harper’s Bazaar UK.
Montana Cox:
The 2011 winner of Australia’s Next Top Model has certainly lived up to her title. Montana has had a busy year treading the runways of Europe. She was cast in Chanel, Lanvin, Christian Dior, Mugler, Kenzo, Pucci and Bottega Veneta, among others, for the F/W ’12 shows. Karl Lagerfeld and Alber Elbaz were obviously impressed – she walked again for Lanvin and Chanel in Resort 2013, as well as Oscar de la Renta. Most recently, she walked for Elie Saab and Valentino in the Haute Couture F/W ’12 shows. Locally, you can see her in the new Collette by Collette Dinnigan S/S ’12 campaign video.
Samantha Harris:
With her Aboriginal and European heritage, Samantha’s unique look has made her a favourite of the Australian fashion pack. She has appeared in editorial and on the cover of Vogue Australia and clocked up a record number of shows at Australia Fashion Week in 2010. She is the David Jones Yong Women’s Fashion Ambassador and this season she had the tough job of selecting the models to walk alongside her at the DJs casting!
Jason Dundas:
The newest addition to the David Jones family as the store’s menswear ambassador, Jason may be familiar to Australians from his gig as a Getaway presenter and his former Cleo Bachelor of the Year crown. He now co-hosts Vh1’s Big Morning Buzz Live – a morning show live from Times Square – and is also the brand ambassador for Australian jeweller Linneys.
Bambi Northwood Blyth:
Bambi stormed the international runways in 2011 walking for Chanel, Kanye West, Mugler, Giles, Topshop and Jonathan Saunders. She has landed some major advertising campaigns, including H&M, Love Moschino, Pepe Jeans, ck One and most recently, Armani Jeans (above). Bambi is also now a veteran look book model, with Marc by Marc Jacobs, Urban Outfitters and TEXTILE Elizabeth & James (the Olsen twins’ denim line) and countless other labels under her belt.
Jessica Gomes:
At the start of her career, Jessica surprisingly managed to fly under the radar in her native Australia while making a HUGE name for herself overseas. She has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated’s coveted swimsuit edition for four consecutive years, starred in her own reality TV show in Korea and placed third in Korea’s Dancing With the Stars last year. In fact, the Koreans love her so much, at one point she needed a bodyguard to escort her around.
Alice Burdeu:
Alice’s career launched in 2007 when she won the title of Australia’s Next Top Model. Since then she has fronted two covers for Vogue Australia and shot editorials for some of the world’s most prestigious fashion publications. Her runway credentials are staggering – Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin and more. And the cherry on top? She was photographed by the legendary Mario Testino for a D&G campaign.
