Cara Delevingne Mulberry Collection Announced
It-girl Cara Delevingne, the darling of the catwalks and founder of the onesie trend, has just scored a massive fashion coup.
Mulberry has collaborated with her on not just one bag – that’s for lesser beings – but an entire range of accessories.
Queen Delevingne indeed.
Rumours of the collaboration started running hot when Cara tweeted sneak peeks, including pictures of the tattoo on the sole of her foot, ‘Made In England’, alongside the bottom of a bag stamped to match.
And it turns out that the Mulberry collection, unveiled during London Fashion Week, is very involved with the supermodel’s tattoo collection.
Mulberry, at the exclusive presentation, told reporters that Cara wanted the three bags to be like opening a special surprise, and Cara herself commented, “I want there to be hidden gems inside, based on things that are personal to me.”
Among the tattoo-inspired bag features? Gold lion rivets to match Cara’s own lion tattoo, and a heart shaped patch inside each bag.
So are the bags themselves worth the hype?
The main feature that got the fashion press talking was the innovative strap arrangement. The three bags are decidedly glam – one in quilted green, one large camouflage number and one brown studded mini-bag – but they can also be arranged with removable straps to be backpacks.
And considering that backpacks are the number one street style item for both sexes right now, it was a canny – and novel – move.
Will you be running out to wear the Delevingne Mulberry range?

The New Fashion Inspiration: Star Wars
It was light sabres at twenty paces when two runway shows sent down collections inspired by Star Wars.
It seems that George Lucas’s classic space fantasy is big fashion this season, so put on your Princess Leia hair buns and let’s see who did the best.
First it was Rodarte in New York Fashion Week, who sent out slinky gowns printed with famous scenes and characters from the series.
Luke Skywalker, the Death Star and C390 all had their moments in the sun (or suns) of the Star Wars galaxy.
However, the real winner was the backdrops – skyscapes with stars, sweeping deserts and rocky landscapes, all digitally printed onto dresses worthy of a red carpet.
The big criticism? The Star Wars theme didn’t fit at all with the rest of the collection, which was eclectic 70s mishmash chic
Preen’s versions in London were more daytime casual than red carpet R2D2. Darth Vader’s face was printed on floaty silk dresses in a collection that was full of great patterns, inspired by stained glass and parquet flooring.
However, Style.com’s reviewers were unimpressed with the dollop of Darth, calling it “gimmicky” in an otherwise cool and wearable show.
What do you think – want to put on your Star Wars t-shirt and parade like it’s couture?

How To Work A Tux Angelina-Style
Nobody but Angelina would turn up to an awards show with her bow tie undone and immediately steal the spotlight.
The evening tux is a new staple for the elegant woman’s night wardrobe. Here’s RESCU’s guide to getting the right one to work for you.
Tuxedos are all about fit. Angelina, who’s slim, wore a classic tight cut with the traditional silk ribbon down the side, sitting at the waist.
If you’re curvier, look for a suit pant cut to be high-waisted, maybe with a little flare – 70s-style flared trousers are very in this season, and they can flow beautifully in good materials.
Tuxedo jackets are also crucial. You can mismatch if you like, but the true tux is impeccably put together and matches perfectly, so look into getting a full set.
Incorporate sleek details – a silk lapel, a flower in your button hole, an interesting lining or ruffled collar – and make sure the fit suits your body. Smaller women should go with a shoulder pad and a straight cut, while ladies with boobs and a waist should get it fitted to fasten and be cut close to the body.
If you want to make a splash, do what Ruth Wilson did at the same event – and go all-over metallic or bright. A sparkly suit’s more elegant than a sparkly gown while still announcing ‘I’m here’.
And don’t forget your accessories. A loosened tie like Angelina adds some masculine glam, but an ornate necklace anchors the look nicely too. And either make the shoes hyper-masculine, monks or oxfords, or go with some killer stilettos to lengthen your legs.
For classic blacks and whites, Dolce & Gabbana, YSL and Band Of Outsiders have glorious ranges of precisely tailored tuxedo sets, while Just Cavalli has a golden version for less traditional ladies, and Antonio Berardi (who did Ruth Wilson’s custom silver tux) trotted out a spectacular green version on his runway this week.
