The Emmy Awards is TV’s night of nights and they were held this week with an array of new shows, actors and actresses in the running for the prize.
Of course one of our favourite parts of the Emmy’s is the fashion! The hottest colours featured on the red carpet were blue and purple and also white. Glee star Lea Michelle wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta dress in navy blue, whilst reality tv star Kim Kardashian paraded in a white dress in a stunning Grecian style.
Whilst we can usually expect our well known style queens like January Jones or Christina Hendrixs to dress beautifully, one of the stand out stars (and the most unexpected) for the awards was Glee star Jane Lynch (could it be because we are used to seeing her in a tracksuit?)
True Blood star Anna Paquin chose a black satin dress detailed with stunning gold jewels around the neckline, and of course she was accompanied by co star and new husband Stephen Moyer.
But, alas it’s not all about the fashion, some of TVs newest shows took away huge awards on the night, with Mad Men winning its 3rd consecutive win for best TV drama series. Edie Falco won her first award for comedy in her show Nurse Jackie (she beat Aussie Toni Collette.) Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee, won his very first Emmy for the top rating series and Eric Stonestreet, from Modern Family, took away the best supporting comedy actor award.
Overall the Los Angeles based event was a show stopping award night, where new shows and performers received the attention they deserve!
