Whether you’re looking for a fitness guide to achieve your perfect body, an inspiring travel memoir, or a feel-good fiction book, we have something for you.
1. Clean & Lean Flat Tummy Fast! by James Duigan
Written by Elle Macpherson’s personal trainer, who also trains model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and actor Hugh Grant, this is a must-have book for anyone who wants a flatter stomach.
It’s the sequel to James Duigan’s bestselling Clean & Lean Diet. As well as practical hints on toning your tummy and avoiding food cravings, it features picturesque seaside photography.
For women who want to lose weight fast for a special occasion, don’t miss James’ six-day ‘Tummy Transformer’, the tried and tested technique he uses when his model clients have last-minute photo shoots
If you want a sneak peak, the Doubleday website features a short extract from the book.

2. No Chopsticks Required by Katrina Beikoff
No Chopsticks Required is Australian Walkley Award-winning journalist Katrina Beikoff’s entertaining memoir of the year she and her family spent living in Shanghai.
It follows Katrina and her partner, both Queensland-based journalists, after they accept contracts to work at The Shanghai Daily newspaper. They have two small children so moving overseas is a huge adjustment.
Katrina has an amusing and easy-to-read tone, which I found more compelling than Elizabeth Gilbert’s (the author of world famous memoirs Eat Pray Love and Committed).

Another great travel memoir
If you’re not interested in China, you might prefer the bestseller Almost French. It’s the true story of Australian journalist Sarah Turnbull who moves to Paris after a holiday romance and has to cope with hilarious cultural clashes.
3. The One Before The One by Katy Regan
If you struggle with keeping your New Year’s Resolutions, you’ll enjoy meeting Caroline, the lead character in this book, who is obsessed with to-do lists.
An addictive chick lit book, it is written solely through 32-year-old Caroline’s eyes, which makes it perfect uncomplicated reading for a summer holiday.
The plot:
Caroline’s to-do list consists of:
- Make something with quinoa
- Pluck eyebrows
- Join a book club
- Dump my married boyfriend.
Of course, it’s the third task that’s giving her the most trouble. And when her 17-year-old half-sister, Lexi, stays with her for the summer, she becomes even more stressed. Lexi is a result of her father’s infidelity, and always reminds Caroline of the divorce that destroyed her mother. So she has decisions to make, and a life to reconsider, but surely a teenager can’t teach her anything about how to live well?

Surprise author fact
The author Katy Regan is famous for her unconventional relationships. Her first book, One Thing Led To Another, is loosely based on her personal experience of having a baby with her best friend while they were not a couple. This book was thoroughly praised. Heat Magazine said it had “plenty of LOL moments.”
